is hosted by the Central East Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC), in partnership with the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and the Georgetown University Medstar Hospital/Georgetown University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. This collaboration of multidisciplinary, multicultural team members was established based on a mutual commitment to improving the well-being of behavioral health professionals across the nation.

The Central East MHTTC, funded by Substance Use Mental Health Services Administration and managed by The Danya Institute, supports resource development and dissemination, training and technical assistance (TA), and workforce development to the behavioral health and primary care fields in HHS Region 3 (Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia). We work with systems, organizations, and treatment practitioners involved in the delivery of mental health services to strengthen their capacity to deliver effective evidence-based practices to individuals.

Thank you to our partners!

The Department of Psychiatry has a tripartite mission of Clinical, Education, and Research agendas, serving our surrounding community and the State of Maryland, and providing expertise at national and international levels. We are staffed with 85 full-time and 30 part-time faculty and provide a robust array of evidenced-based services both locally at the University of Maryland Medical Center and remotely to the entire University of Maryland Medical System that encompasses 13 hospitals. The mission of our department is to provide high quality mental health care and service to the community in an academic model that integrates teaching and research activities in everything we do. We are particularly focused on the integration of our mental health programs into our broader medical care system, ranging from our extensive outpatient programs serving Georgetown medical populations, to our research programs that study how to improve mental health for historically marginalized communities.
